MMS is proud to introduce the EndoFLIP® Imaging System!
The EndoFLIP® (Endolumenal Functional Lumen Imaging Probe) Imaging System, is an innovative tool that brings a new dimension to GERD diagnosis and surgery.
The components of the imaging tool enable precise measurement of the distensibility and functional diameter of the lower esophageal sphincter.
Benefits of EndoFLIP® in the diagnosis of GERD
-
EndoFLIP® is the first tool to measure the mechanical properties of the lower esophageal sphincter.
- Key tool for understanding why patients have GERD, rather than the extent that they have it.
- It provides real time dynamic imaging of the lower esophageal sphincter.
- The test is very quick and takes only 5-10 minutes.
- Cost-effective.
- Assists doctors in the decision making process. It helps them to make a more objective decision to guide GERD therapy and whether a patient is the correct patient for GERD surgery.
Benefits of EndoFLIP® during GERD Surgery
- Many patients have difficulty in swallowing after GERD surgery due to overtightening of the gastroesophageal junction (sphincter region). The EndoFLIP® system assists surgeons in the assessment of the degree of surgical tightening during surgery.
- Data is recorded allowing doctors to assess the 'Before' and 'After' results of the surgery.
- The recorded data is a permanent record that surgery took place.
The EndoFLIP® is developed and manufactured by Crospon Ltd, a medical device research and development company with significant expertise and experience in developing electro-medical devices. In May 2009, MMS signed a world wide distribution agreement with Crospon for the EndoFLIP®.
