About Dr. A.J. Bredenoord, MD

Albert (Arjan) J. Bredenoord graduated in Medicine from Antwerp University, Belgium. He worked as a research fellow on projects on upper GI physiology at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA and at Nieuwegein, the Netherlands.

His current position is at the Department of Gastroenterology of the Amsterdam Medical Center. His primary research focus is on oesophageal physiology and pathophysiology, on which he has published over 70 papers and several book chapters. He is a pioneer in impedance monitoring and high resolution manometry and founding member of the HRM consensus group.
 

 
About Dr. Keith J Lindley, BSc (Hons) PhD MB MRCP(UK) MRCPCH

Dr. Keith Lindley trained in pediatric GI motility at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London, UK after receiving a PhD in GI physiology at University College London.

He currently holds the post of Consultant / Reader in Paediatric Gastroenterology at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children where he is clinical lead of the Division of Pediatric Neurogastroenterology. He is also lead of the nationally commissioned diagnostic service for pediatric pseudo-obstructive disorders.
 

 
About Dr. Mark Scott, BSc (Hons) PhD

Dr. Mark Scott is Co-Director of the long established GI Physiology Unit at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, UK. He has over 20 years experience, both clinical and academic, related to the physiological investigation of lower gastrointestinal disorders.

His research interests are focussed on the pathophysiology of functional colorectal disorders, and include: pioneering work on visceral hyposensitivity, assessment of pancolonic motor function, and the use of novel investigative methodologies. He is author of over 80 papers and 8 book chapters. He has recently edited two journal supplements on constipation (Neurogastroenterol Motil 2009; Best Pract Res Clin Gastroenterol 2011).
 

 
About Dr. Radu Tutuian, MD

Radu Tutuian graduated in Medicine from 'Carol Davila' University, Bucharest, Romania. He completed his post-graduate training in the USA (Philadelphia and Charleston, SC) under the guidance of Prof. Donald O Castell. He is practicing Medicine and Gastroenterology in Switzerland since 2005 and is currently the Clinical Lead of the Outpatient Services and Gastrointestinal Function Laboratory at Bern University Hospital.

His primary research focus is on esophageal motility and gastroesophageal reflux disease. He published over 100 papers and several book chapters. He is one of the international recognized experts in esophageal function testing using impedance-manometry and high resolution manometry and reflux monitoring using combined Impedance-pH monitoring.
 

Michiel Paul van Wijk, M.D.  
About Dr. M.P. van Wijk, MD, PhD

Michiel Paul van Wijk (MD, PhD) graduated from the Medical School at the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 2004. He worked as a research fellow in the Motility Unit of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide, Australia, as well as in the Motility Center in the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

In 2010 he defended his PhD-thesis entitled 'Paediatric gastro-oesophageal reflux and upper GI tract motility – The use of multichannel intraluminal impedance and high resolution manometry' and has continued to perform research in this area. He has published over 20 papers and book chapters.
